  1. US choose Parlamentarism??

You do realize that you just said that we are not a republic, we're a republic, right?
  2. Map Thread V

Dutch Ceylon makes no sense with a POD after 1815.
  3. The Only Man in Prussia

    Bump (ffffffffffffffff
  4. Sui Dynasty lasts longer

You fail at geography forever - rivers aren't the only things limiting Chinese expansion.
  5. French India after the ARW?

    Bump... filler filler filller
  6. A Blank Map Thread

Qazaq, if you could make a 1783 map like this, it would be amazing.
  7. French India after the ARW?

One would think that the French might be able to extract enough money from their new Indian colonies to pay off their debts and thus avoid the Revolution. If the French government is out of debt, it can import food when the harvest goes bad in 1788, and thus avoid riots and whatnot.
  8. French India after the ARW?

I was reading a few old threads (such as this one), in which mention is made of one Pierre André de Suffren, a famous French admiral in the late 18th century. In the linked thread, fhaessig mentions that given enough time - by delaying the end of the American Revolutionary War, Suffren could...
  9. Fate of Italy, Germany without the French revolution

Exactly what it says on the tin. Say the French Revolution is averted by handwaving (economic reform, no aid in the Revolutionary war, take your pick). So what would the 19th century look like, particularly for Italy and Germany. Without first the trauma of French conquest, and more importantly...
  10. WI Sultan Selim I was defeated by Mamluks in 1516?

Because of course the puny, weak Saracens are no match for the godlike and dominant European superpowers of the era...
  11. WI: Cyril and Methodius convert the Khazars to Christianity

FWIW, that was because (according to Wiki) he was leading the excavation at old Uppsala for archeological evaluation.
  12. WI: Cyril and Methodius convert the Khazars to Christianity

I meant the "Christianization of the Rus' Khaganate." (Check Wikipedia) I don't know how natural the enemies were. For one, the Rus' adopted the Khazar title of "khagan." There was cultural contact and whatnot as well. It isn't ASB, but it is just sooo funny. Almost like imagining Hamas rank...
  13. WI: Cyril and Methodius convert the Khazars to Christianity

I agree with all of these points - a Christian Khazar with its own alphabet launching significant missionary efforts towards its populace. AFAIK the Rus expanded due to Byzantine Christianization efforts, which stemmed from the failure to convert the Khazars. With that successful ITTL, it could...
  14. WI: Cyril and Methodius convert the Khazars to Christianity

Any thoughts on what would actually happen ITTL though. Pretty much now one does besides Arther Koestler, author of the book which seriously posited that Ashkenazi are the main descendants of Khazars. But while there is some Khazar genetic influence in the Ashkenazim, they are a very minor part.
