As Dreamers Do Part Deux

There'd probably have to be reform so that more mature content can be shown on subchannels, that way more people would be attracted to them. Plus, there's also the issue of them being in a lower resolution (480i/720p compared to 1080i).
  • Most subchannels are fine with being shown in lower quality. Maybe make the HQ ones still exclusive to cable or something
  • The FCC allows a watershed of edgier content from 10 pm to 6 am, though the central and mountain timezones mean it’s more like 11 to 6 (because those timezones technically air an hour earlier, so 10 to 6 becomes 9 to 5) So to be fair, even modern IOTL Adult Swim kinda follows that (Checkered Past (shudder) from 5 to 7, fairly tame Fox reruns from 7 to 11, and the edgier stuff from 11 pm onwards)
Would children’s cable channels be available as subchannels? I’m picturing it as like this:
  • ABC (Henson)
    • Nickelodeon
    • Lifetime
    • A&E
    • History Channel
  • NBC (Peacock)
    • USA Network
    • SciFi Channel
    • USA Cartoon Express
  • CBS (CBS Discovery)
    • Discovery Channel
    • TLC
    • Animal Planet
    • HGTV
    • Oaxis
  • FOX (Disney)
    • The Disney Channel
  • SBC (Saban)
    • MeTV
    • New Line Network
    • Odyssey
  • UPN (TBS+Paramount)
    • TBS
    • TNT
    • Cartoon Network

That could work, but again, we'll need some reform to allow more mature content, or at least a stable watershed.

Entertainment News for Early June 2010 (Part Two)

The Sports Page

Per ESPN, the Arena Football League confirmed that for 2011, it would be downsizing from 30 to 20 teams by eliminating several clubs that have struggled in attendance in recent years. On the chopping block are the Virginia Valor, New Jersey Red Dogs, New England Wolfpack, Minnesota Pike, Quad City Steamwheelers, Tulsa Talons and Carolina Cobras.

The Kansas City Brigade and Cincinnati Rockers agreed to merge to form the Columbus Aviators. Out west, the Seattle Grunge and Portland Platypodes will merge to form the Spokane Shock. The Spokane decision comes as the WLAF's Steelheads prepare to relocate to Omaha, Nebraska, where they will become the Scarecrows for next year.

In recent years, the Salt Lake Locos have been unable to compete with the WLAF's erstwhile Rocky Mountain Extreme, who will be renamed the Utah Avalanche starting next season. As a result, the Locos will merge with the Colorado Crush for 2011.

If you're a fan of the teams affected by this contraction, it's time to stock up on Kleenex before the regular season ends.

Hoping we get a Berlin-Mexico City World Bowl, that name matchup would kick butt.

Oldnavy Kungfu panda 2 should be coming out in 2011. I Feel that now about time think about weather it will be any different then otl. I like the idea of replacing Lord Shen as villain with an evil panda called named Bao. Years ago Bao overthrew the Panda King and has been ruling the pandas with an iron fist ever since Do you think Dreamworks should depict Bao as devious uspering chancellor or as hypocritical communist revolutionary. I like the villiouns Bao asa comunist reovualnty but I am afaird tha or Dreamworks be to scared of angering china if they did that. If Dream works is bare enough to make the villian of kungfu panda 2 a communist then I feel that Bao's full name should be Bao Dingdong aka Chariman Bao. I also like the idea of Po being revealed to be the son the overthrown panda king. After Bao is deposed the panda people name Po there king but he rejects the crown)

Note: Paul Allen is on loan from the Minnesota Vikings for whom he is still the radio broadcaster as of 2010 ITTL. Paul is substituting for Marv Albert, who is covering the 2010 NBA Finals for UPN.

Theme song note:
The 2010 North American conference playoff between Mexico City and Vancouver will be the last UPN/Turner World League broadcast to use the Trevor Rabin music normally used for TNT's NBA games.

For the 2010 World Bowl on July 4, UPN will bring back "Warrior Dance," which TNT and TBS used ITTL for college football and Arenaball in the late 90's, complete with a remake of the intro that featured a ball being kicked into the jumbotron.

Warrior Dance was used IOTL for the final three years that TNT had the NFL for Sunday Nights in September and October. And every year from 1990 until 97 IOTL, TNT would carry the Arizona Cardinals home opener.
