- AOC in a TikTok lip syncing to Taylor Swift’s song after opposing presidential candidate, Marjorie Taylor Greene, accused her of being the reason so many Gen Alpha voters are identifying as LGBTQ+/progressive. (2036)

“So… Elvis won an Oscar for playing Tom Hagen in Mario Puzo’s The Godfather. You gotta stop drinking before you time travel!”

I'm pretty sure it's obvious who's speaking here, but here goes:

"All is lost save your honor? Is that what you're telling yourself to cope with being my prisoner Francois de Valois? After all the trouble you caused me it's my prerogative, no my solemn duty that I strip you of that as well. Then again, its only right that I do so, after all the very presupposition that you are somehow King of France is ludicrous. King of France? You fat-nosed Capetian! All you merely rule are Neustria and Aquitaine, the lands of the Western Franks. Unlike you a mere petty King, I am a King of many kingdoms ruling over Austrasia, Lotharingia, Arles, Italy, and all Hispania. And now that I am Emperor of the Romans, its only fitting that proud and free-spirited Gaul be brought to heel wouldn't you say Francois?"

Asterix's speech to Francois de Valois in the 1997 French animated film, Asterix in the Holy Roman Empire. After a failed attempt in concocting a potion results in Asterix and few of his allies being sent forward in time to the Holy Roman Empire. In this scene, Asterix loses his memories and believes himself to be the Roman Emperor and rants to King Francois de Valois of France about ruling the entirety of France through his relatives. Francois is not amused and orders his royal guard to arrest Asterix and throw him into the dungeons in his palace.

"From the early-to-late 2000s, commercials for anime games frequently aired in late-night schedules or in niche channels. These were targeted at a young male audience, who comprised most of the market for video games and the anime fandom at the time, while being the main audience for such shows. An infamous commercial was the one for Assassin Ann, a stealth/action game by Active and licensed by Planet Games for the PC and Xbox, an imprint of Electronic Arts, that frequently ran on Adult Swim and the Sci-Fi Channel."

The book An Unabridged History of Anime Games, released in 2023 as a collaborative effort between Taiwanese-American game designer Cynthia Wu and French journalist Hannah Everheart, was one of the most successful books about the small niche market of anime games. The excerpt comes from chapter 5, detailing the history of anime game commercials.

“The Chickasaw didn’t earn their title of ‘Spartans of the Mississippi’ for nothing. Throughout the early and middle 19th century they successfully repelled several attempts by US forces to seize their land, and earned the begrudging respect of many of the white settlers for their prowess and fearlessness in combat. Indeed, unlike other First Nations groups the Chickasaw were allowed to remain on their lands during the Indigenous Removals.”

A quote from the biography American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House by historian and author John Meacham. Meacham described the Trail of Tears in detail, and also described how Jackson made an exception for the Chickasaw due to their service during the War of 1812 and their warrior nature. The Chickasaw, unlike most tribes, were allowed to retain their land, which included a significant part of the state of Mississippi. The Chickasaw nation sided with the Confederacy during the Civil War, and after the wae ended the Union government forced the Chickasaw to migrate to Oklahoma. The land of the former Chickasaw nation was then given to newly freed slaves, though white southern elites would steal this land during the Jim Crow era using a combination of legal manuevers and terror tactics such as lynchings and attacks.

"The friendship between the US and USSR was invitable, it is no surprise that two nations borne of revolution would maintain a close alliance throughout the twentieth and into the twenty-first century."

An excerpt from Workers of the World Uniting: the Socialist Bloc in the 20th Century by Winston Sanderson, which details the parallel rises of Eugene Debs and Leon Trotsky to lead their respective countries in socialist revolutions and later against the Axis Powers during the Second Great War.

"Let justice be done here, even if the world perishes."
Statement by Commonwealth Councillor B.C. Doo after voting in favor of the Gabon Conference. He knew full well that, despite many precautions, it was still theoretically possible that society would not be able to handle the Conference's effects and the revealed existence of the Hidden. However, he, and many others, considered the risk worth it to liberate hundreds of millions of people from eternal servitude. Anything else would just be cruel.

Reportedly said by Confederate President Theodore Jonesia during the Confederate Constitutional Crisis of 1999 over the passing of a housing bill against the President’s Catholic morality, forcing the Senate to have him declared incapable of ruling in order to pass the bill anyway.

“Shortly after the formation of the Democratic Republic of France, the new French regime began spinning the country’s colonies off as a series of so-called “satellite republics”. For example, French West Africa was transformed into the Pan-African Socialist Republic, the Mandate of Syria became the Workers’ Federation of Arabian Republics, and the colony of French Indochina became the People’s Federation of Indochina.”

"Hello dear....what to turn on the TV on the BBC...there was something with my father.......William.....NO!THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE!NO I DON'T WANT!I DON'T WANT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS!"
"You are the King now whether you like it or not Harry, your child nephew cannot be King, we have to leave for London soon."

Well two people got skipped, so I'll answer those and the latest one here
"We do horrible things while saying they were necessary. We talk about moral complexity while leading a genocide. We cry as if we were the real victims while pretending the real ones thank us for our sacrifice. London deserves to burn."
A line from a letter to the editor of a British socialist newspaper by a communist, anti colonial activist named Dalrick Cohen. It was penned in response to the increasingly heavy response to the Kenyan Revolt of 1955 which had it roots in the Mau Mau rebellion. The new British tactics, introduced after a spate of attacks on settlers had resulted in high civilian casualties.
After the rebels assassinated the hardline governor in a high profile manner in 1959, Harold Macmillan threw in the towel and swiftly pulled out of Kenya and accelerated the independence of other African colonies.

That line would be used evidence for the prosecution in Cohen's infamous treason trial, after he was accused of supplying weapons to the Kenyan Worker's Party, a group that was part of the rebellion, by leveraging his connections to the Soviets to obtain arms. He was convicted and sentenced to death, he was hung in 1963.

"You are the King now whether you like it or not Harry, your child nephew cannot be King, we have to leave for London soon."
A conversation between the then Prince Harry and his girlfriend, as recalled in his memoirs, when in the middle of he switched on his TV; most channels were now covering the terrible crash landing of the RAF flight carrying King Charles III and Prince William at Heathrow.
The extent of damage left no doubt about survival.

After William's divorce from Catherine, she married a wealthy Spanish widower and had to convert to Catholicism. Their only child George, despite his age was baptized into the church; losing rights to the throne.

So Harry, known later by his regnal name of Henry IX, was next in line.
Henry IX's initial reaction to the news that would herald his unexpected rise to the throne reflects the unpreparedness that would characterize his early rule.

For example, French West Africa was transformed into the Pan-African Socialist Republic, the Mandate of Syria became the Workers’ Federation of Arabian Republics, and the colony of French Indochina became the People’s Federation of Indochina.”
An excerpt from the book: "Second Failure: The Demise of France's Socialist polity". In this world, a German spy leaked the entire D-Day plans causing Eisenhower to call it off. This left the allies to continue pushing through Italy. The war ended with Stalin conquering the entirety Germany and northern France.
While a unified French government formed, the communist party came to power in 1948 with Stalin's help; kicking out US and UK troops.

The communists used the pre-existing empire to spread socialism. The first blow came with Algeria and Syrian rebellion in which Muslims rejected Marxism. Already broke, many troops were demoralized over having to serve a socialist government. This culminated in the battle of Raqqa when rebels along with Iraqi and Jordanian troops routed the French army. France witdrew from Middle East afterwards.

More rebellions both at home and abroad wittled down the state. The general secretary was assassinated in 1964 by an anti communist. Instead of reprisals, the militarry took over and began a transition to democracy.

Well, Savonarola took over Florence, and not only that but the Papacy as well. This, of course, caused another Western Schism, but that’s not important. What is is the Savonarolite (?) militants who proclaim their takeover of Naples with the quote above.

“I have in my possession undeniable evidence of the falsehood of so-called ‘shovels.’”

From notorious Pro-Communist Youtuber MarksLenin, during his rant on the “Mai Lai Massacre”. Mai Lai, a town in Vietnam, was occupied by the Chinese during the Vietnam War (1956-1970). Towards the end of the war, when the combined Army of the Republic of Vietnam and their U.S. Allies were beating back the Chinese and liberating the western parts of the country, the town of some 5,000 residents, mostly women and children, found themselves being rounded up by the Chinese occupiers. They were then driven to a remote spot in the jungle, and made to dig a mass grave. When this was done the Chinese machinegunned them, and then had soldiers go in with shovels to beat to death any who might’ve survived. Witnessing this event was future Tiawanese president Deng Xioping, who would later write that the event sickened him, and led to him abandoning Maoism and becoming a Christian. When the Allied forces discovered the mass grave and burned down town, Vietnamese President Ho Chi Mihn issued a fiery statement denouncing Mao and reaffirming his commitment to “Nordic Model State Socialism” and his “Alliance to the Americans”.

”Damn that nosey reporter Ronald Reagan! Your chances of becoming President are RUINED, John!”
”Dad, for the last time: I NEVER WANTED TO BE PRESIDENT! YOU FORCED ME INTO THIS POSITION! THAT DAMNED REPORTER DID ME THE GREATEST FAVOR BY OUTING YOUR NAZI VIEWS!”

An excerpt from John F. Kennedy's book "A Profile in Cowardice," where he details his 1960 presidential run, and how his father, Joe Kennedy Sr. forced him to run. The book was also praised for Kennedy's commentary about the situation occurring around him, mostly expressing his regret for not dropping out of the race, something which he eventually did on September 29, 1960, leaving Henry "Scoop" Jackson as Democratic nominee, going to lose in a landslide to incumbent Vice President Bill Knowland in the 1960 election.

"C'mon Jimmy, give em hell! Show 'em who we are!"

"C'mon Jimmy, give em hell! Show 'em who we are!"
The following quote was attributed to Prince Henry, the brother of British King James VI Stuart, who personally led the army to put down the final enclave of the Republican Revolt of 1920 storming London. Following the Jacobite Restoration in 1740, the course of English and by extension British politics reached an inflection point, best described by King James III's words, "no longer will the tail wag the dog."

The balance of power tilted towards the Crown and through skillful politicking , support from the French, and the Army, the Crown began the gradual process of restoring monarchical power, albeit to the maximum extent of the Constitutional settlement. As while the King didn't reach the same level of power as Louis-Auguste, it effectively reduced Parliament to a rubber stamp.

Though this state of affairs couldn't last for long, as looming corruption with the sale of titles and offices, conflicts over budgets and taxation, cause a great deal of civil unrest which after being repressed for so long exploded into the violent and destructive British Civil War, which the monarchy ultimately won thanks to its strong loyalist contingents as well as the international aid it received from the rest of Europe.

"Constantinople is worth discarding the Fillioque."

"Constantinople is worth discarding the Fillioque."
This quote was attributed to Pope Alexander XI (r. 1763-1777) whose attempts to reconcile the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, along with European aid to the Eastern Empire in their defence against a resurgent Ottoman Empire, ultimately led to the healing of the Great Schism with the Reunion of the Holy Mother Church in 1838. By 1854 the Ottomans had been pushed out of Greece and Anatolia entirely and by 1862 they had been reduced to a rump state in Mesopotamia, while the Eastern Empire with European help retook almost all of the old Imperial territory (with the exception of Egypt which won its independence with the Egyptian Cultural Revolution of 1849, resulting in the rise of a new dynasty of native Pharaohs). The reunification of the Churches would ultimately lead to the decline of Protestantism across the West, especially when England re-embraced the Catholic faith in 1873.

"I didn't do it. Nobody saw me do it. You can prove nothing. Even the Pope says I'm innocent."

A quote from Cardinal Archimedes Pellade of the Diocese of Budapest during his trial for child sexual abuse, dyed form March 6, 1999. Having been accused of molesting the 10-year-old son of a member of his congregation, the trial would drag on for three days and ultimately return a “not guilty” verdict.

“He already had experience in Vietnam, having fought in the war there. And now the 40-year-old American mercenary and his team found themselves returning to the country, this time with great plans for it - plans he intended to put into motion soon. But first he had the country’s communist government to deal with.”

An oft repeated humorous phrase said by more conservative Parliamentarians regarding the radical “Diggers”. Though the particular originator of the phrase is lost to history, evidence rules out Oliver Cromwell, though he was not opposed to the utterance of such phrase in his company.

In the end, the phrase would be repudiated by his son, Richard Cromwell, who allied with the Diggers to improve the living conditions of the common man, and bring about proper democracy to the British Isles, and ensured the legacy of the Commonwealth would live past his death in 1712, and the return of the monarchy. This happened due to negotiations between Richard Cromwell and Royalist representatives who championed the cause of various claimants, but only one would accept a crown handed to him by the usurper, rather than by conquest. Charles Bruce, 3rd Earl of Ailesbury (maternal great-grandson of William Seymour, 2nd Duke of Somerset, and Lady Arbella Stuart) was the man desperate enough to accept, as he had grown up in a Royalist household that had always taught him that they were robbed of the throne by James Stuart of Scotland, and this was the only way he could right that wrong.
